Bruins are too good for anyone to complain about them. Least of all the fans.

99.9% of the time I tell people who are hard on Rask to shut up. This recent stretch is starting to concern me though. Is this really a result of losing Seidenberg? Or just total team struggles? I mean good lord the PK has been bad. PP didn't look great either.

I think you might be being a bit hard on Krejci and the top line. Thought they played a solid game, but it definitely looked like they were grippin their sticks a little too hard and overthinking too much. Specifically those two on ones where Krejci should have shot but forced the pass.

Im sure they'll figure it out soon, they always seem to. Not a whole lot of fun to watch right now though

You clearly haven't been watching lately lol. Obviously were not lookin to trade anyone or do anything drastic, but they are certainly struggling right now and there is plenty to complain about. Primarily the defense and PK (cant remember the last time those were the issue)

PK, PP, and Bernier were the difference. Feels like a mid season slump to me.

"With the loss, Boston falls to 1-2-0 against the Maple Leafs in 2013-14."

Isn't Boston 2-1-0 vs the Leafs this season?

Leafs are one of the most opportunistic scoring teams in the league; they consistently get outshot and (usually) outplayed offensively and yet they can pull a win by sneaking a goal when there's a sliver of an opportunity. Bruins are in the midst of a rough patch but I think they'll pull it together soon.

This, special teams and goaltending were the difference.

5 on 5 it was men vs boys. Leafs are incredibly opportunistic, need a couple stops from Tuukka there.

Phaneuf looks bad at times because the rest of our D is basically kids (gardiner, reilly, even franson or gunnarson aren't veterans like say, seidenberg). He plays a ton of minutes, plays PP and PK. He has his warts but that's not unlike any D man in the league. Toronto is horrendous defensively and he is a very good + player.

If he had a better supporting cast (think bouwmeester and how much he has improved since moving to STL from calgary) he'd look alot better.

Also, to replace him would cost giving up a ton of assets and even then, Dmen like that don't hit the market. Just because we offer up a great package, doesn't mean you guys would trade us Chara. Toronto has been looking for a top line centre for years and no matter what the package is they aren't up for trades. Keeping him was by far the best option (plus there are alot worse contracts out there than his, but when you play in Toronto, every thing is magnified).

they might regret it who knows...

I barely noticed Loui Eriksson on the ice, who woulda thought Rielly smith woulda been the key piece of that deal

that Chia is sneaky, isn't he, but really, Loui need some more time I think to get back up to speed.

As for Rask, he usually doesn't give up those juicy rebounds, or put himself that far out of position, maybe he's trying to hard, I don't know.

no, they need a freaking fire lit under them, year after year you get this half assed effort from Krejki until the playoffs,

Team is obviously struggling, not sure if it's directly based on Seids being out (we should all hope not) but this Team seems to do this around the Holiday break through Mid-Feb so they will have to weather the Storm for a bit here,. Would Love to see Tuuk steal 2 points for them, like he was doing when the Season started, he looks like he is having trouble seeing the puck for some reason, that Gardiner Goal was Awful, I would say the same for the VanRimjob goal but that may have been deflected. Was anyone else offering up 7 mil for him? He's hit 20 goals once in his career, many years ago, as an outsider I don't see the value in him. Replacing him wouldn't be that hard, except now your stuck with him. In a salary cap league overpaying someone that much will come back to bite you.

It was Loui's 2nd game back from his 2nd concussion of the year. I'm holding off judgement until we see how he finishes the season if he's healthy.
